The guided tour of the Hautes-Mynes leads visitors to galleries excavated at different times and allows to understand the organization of the mining site, to follow the evolution of drilling techniques and to observe pumping equipment that has remained in place for more than two centuries.
The numerous surface remains constitute a typical mining landscape.
The guided tour will also allow you to discover exceptionally the Art Gallery, a mining gallery illustrating the beginnings of the use of powder in mines. The architecture of this gallery testifies to the actions of miners and has recorded traces of remarkable tools.
The gallery was extended several times between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, so visitors will discover on the walls the chronological demonstration in four phases of the successive techniques.
It is for this reason that a classification under the title of Historical Monuments has been attributed to this mine.
Access to this gallery will be made on foot as part of a walk in the forest of about 30 minutes with altitude difference.
