Work of artillery of the Maginot line. Built from 1930, he(it) was delivered to the army in 1937\. The fort was a part of the Sector Strengthened by Boulay (SF), itself included into the Region Strengthened by Metz. Michelsberg is compound(made up) of a mixed entrance(entry) which welcomed the men(people), the ammunitions and the materials(equipments). Forward it aligned five blocks of fight provided with six artillery, two mortar, dozens of rifles and machine guns. His(Her,Its) power of shot was a ton of shell per minute within more than twelve kilometres. The imposing turret of 75 is an inescapable(major) equipment of work. With its 265 tons, it is the biggest model of turret of the Maginot line.
It is about a real underground city located in a 30 metre depth. The buried premises(places) possess ultra modern installations with huge generators, electrical cookings(kitchens), a headquarter, a barracks and a small train which travelled(browsed) more than a kilometre of gallery. Michelsberg distinguished itself in June, 1940 by fights which he(it) delivered to the enemy. Attacked(Affected) by the 95th idem German, its defence obliged him(it) to pull(fire) more than 6200 shells. It is undefeated and without weakness(fault) that the crew(equipage) of Michelsberg left work in July, 1940\.
