Cimetière de Foucharupt
Rue Jean de Monachis, 88100 Saint-Dié-des-Vosges
In the middle of the 19th century, the left bank of the town of Saint-Dié developed in Foucharupt thanks to the industrialization and the installation of textile companies and foundries. The increase of the population, especially with the presence of workers, generates the creation of a new cemetery. On 1 November 1882, the Glacière hill was chosen as a site by City Council, work began and the first concessions were granted in 1885\. In 1925, this cemetery is called Saint-Martin cemetery, in reference to the parish to which it is attached, whereas until then, one could read in the press announcing the burials, «cemetery rive gauche».
