This church, whose presence is attested in the tenth century, is the center of one of the oldest parishes of the city of Troyes. It owes its name "to the market" to the famous Champagne fairs that developed in its territory from the 11th century. It has many prestigious works of art. The painter Pierre Mignard and the sculptor François Girardon, born in Troyes, contributed to the decoration of the sumptuous altarpiece in the choir of the building.
This church is also the living memory of the lives of Saints Marguerite Bourgeoys and Léonie Aviat and Blessed Father Brisson in the 17th and 19th centuries.
Located in the centre of the medieval urban fabric, this church is impressive by its dimensions.
