Reservoir of biodiversity, green lung, ecological corridor, park in English, as many qualifiers for this sustainable heritage that constitutes the park of Bétange. An enchanting place to discover!
The Association de Sauvegarde du Site de Bétange invites you to discover or rediscover the Parc de Bétange. This park of 65 hectares enclosed by a grid of 4 km long, inscribed in full under the title of Historical Monuments, is part of a green lung of 300 hectares in the continuity of the state forest of Florange. Designed in 1856 by the ironmaster, Théodore de Gargan, this English-style park offers visitors successive theatre sets. It also symbolizes by its various decorative elements the meeting between iron and nature. The park of Bétange serves as a setting for a castle built in 1830, also listed as Historical Monuments. We access the whole through a majestic avenue of chestnut trees of 650 meters labeled «Ensemble Arboré Remarquable de France».
The Association de Sauvegarde du Site de Bétange offers the visitor a route that will allow him to discover the remarkable places of the park such as a Japanese kiosk in branches of cast iron, an oak of 500 years old or a Virgin in cast iron.
