Come discover and test the working methods of archaeologists, from the field excavation to the study of objects.

During a workshop, children will excavate in the manner of archaeologists a reproduction of a site from the late Middle Ages.
Led by a mediator, the workshop is divided into two parts, the first is dedicated to the excavation, the children will then discover archaeological remains (facsimile) using the tools and methods of archaeologists. The second is devoted to the study, observation and interpretation of found objects. Thanks to their sketches and observations, children will be able to propose hypotheses about the function of the site.
The sharing of reflections will allow them to date the site and identify the activities that took place there.
The excavation workshop is followed by a short visit of Alsace Archaeology, which will allow you to discover the route of an archaeological object from its arrival in the premises of Alsace Archaeology until its storage.
