Eglise Saint-Michel
Rue de l'église, 88300 Circourt-sur-Mouzon
The church is located in the centre of the village, on a cliff overlooking the Mouzon. Mentioned by the bishop of Toul in 1044 on the act of confirmation of the priory of Deuilly, there remains little of the origin than the flat bedside and the hole in the front choir. The side chapels and sacristy were rebuilt in 1635, in flamboyant Gothic style.
From 1788 to 1791, work was undertaken to extend the nave, doubling its length. The renovation of the frames and roofs (in lava of Noncourt) and the installation of a wooden panelling in the choir and a set of liturgical furniture are also undertaken. The stained glass windows were installed in 1901\. In 1984, a new ceiling was installed, hanging from the old one.
