Preservation and enhancement of the built and natural heritage of the Grand Site de France des Iles Sanguinaires-pointe de la Parata

This year, the 39th edition of the European Heritage Days celebrates sustainable heritage. A theme in which the Grand Site of the Sanguinaires Islands and the Pointe de la Parata is fully in line with the major projects initiated by its manager, the Syndicat mixte du Grand Site. Projects that aim to restore the naturalness and splendour of its landscape to the site by combining heritage development and the construction of a sustainable environment.
We invite you to come and discover the Joint Union’s approach and the details of the work to come, on Saturday, September 17.
On the program of this day:
- 10h inauguration of the exhibition dedicated to the major projects in progress on the Grand Site: restoration of the Genoese tower of the Parata and landscaping. Presentation of the exhibition by Christian Balzano, director of the Grand Site.
- 11h guided tour that will take you to the foot of the Genoese tower. You will discover the richness of the cultural and natural heritage of the site in the company of an agent of the Grand Site. And throughout the day the public can enjoy a virtual tour of the Genoese tower of the Parata with a virtual reality helmet. Modelling and demonstration carried out by the Regional Archaeology Laboratory - at the Site House from 10am to 5pm.
