In the continuity of the exhibitions-dialogues initiated in 2018, the pallet truck presents this summer a canine conversation between the paintings and drawings of Henri Cueco (1929-2017) and a set of original sculptures made by Edi Dubien (born 1963). The dog’s face is central. The exhibition thus houses a pack of bodies with plural meanings: manifestation of an intimate relationship to the living, metaphor of the human condition, expression of an infinite love towards a companion species, of a struggle against loneliness, depiction of a visceral fear or of a vital need for protection. In the Western collective imagination the dog adopts different roles. Domesticated, it is at the same time companion species, shepherd, guardian, guide, lifeguard, therapist, hunting companion or police dog. Wild, he’s a vagrant, a thief, a threat, a free man.
