This 11th-century Romanesque chapel with a single nave is the rest of the most important religious building of the priory of Saint Pierre la Motte, built in this place and dependent on the Abbey of St Georges of Saint-Martin des Bois near Montoire.
Having served as a tannery after the Revolution and then as a warehouse of furniture, there remains a very interesting nave and apse vaulted in a cul-de-four, four columns with Romanesque capitals with vegetal decoration, palm trees mainly from which Résurgence was inspired to realize its logo.
The building, whose state of disrepair moved a small group of Vendômois was ceded by the diocese of Blois in 1970 against the commitment of its restoration. Hence the origin of the creation by these lovers of the heritage of the association Résurgence. This chapel was restored by the association first in 1972 and then during a new campaign from 2007 to 2013. Traces of Romanesque wall paintings have been discovered.
Next to the chapel, which has recently been renovated, you can also discover the new Place François Grandin de l'Eprevier premier président de Résurgenc and the landscaping planned for the summer of 2022.
