"Weapons and Royal Armor": when reality meets fiction
The Fortress hosts this year an innovative exhibition, combining historical works and objects from fantastic cinema and successful series.
A unique marriage between pieces of weapons collections and historical museum armor and the universe of Game of Thrones, Excalibur or the Lord of the Rings. History and the works of museums nourish the Popular Culture of today.
Combining History and Pop Culture is an obvious gateway for younger generations, but not only. It is a different approach that renews our view on prestigious and secular pieces, all generations combined. In all historical and fiction works, royal characters are constructed from references to medieval and modern monarchs. The armoured body represents one of the variations of this decorative body that symbolizes the armed power and prestige of kings and queens.
How do these historical figures feed the works of Popular Culture today? This is part of the story that this exhibition offers you to discover in the four rooms of the apartments of King Charles VII. The exhibition continues in the Clock Tower with a series of photos of cosplayers invested in projects around the royal figure.
