The property is the birthplace of the Chateaubriand family, which François René mentions several times in his Mémoires d'Outre Tombe.
It had been abandoned for several decades, was taken over in 2021 by the Fontaine de Pommery family, which is working to bring it back to life with the support of VMF and the Demeure Historique.
A crowdfunding campaign, with the approval of the Ministry of Culture - and donation tax deductibility -, is underway to finance the raising of part of the roofs.
