The Chapel Notre-Dame of Sailors (1867)
Photo Hervé CorudraisCette chapel is built in the location of the Chapel Notre-Dame-De-La-Croix of Seven - saints. Ruined under Revolution, the chapel is rebuilt in 1867 and blest in August of the same year by lord Augustin David. If the chapel Notre-Dame-De-La-Croix or of Seven - saints called back(reminded) three successive devotions of the place, the new chapel will be as for her named(appointed) Chapel Notre-Dame of Sailors in memory of all those missing at sea. The peach(fishing) on Grand Banks of Newfoundland came to an end in 1860s and was replaced with the peach(fishing) of Iceland. Young or less young men(people) have a lot to do parties in spring on schooners without back in the end of the summer. The new chapel had authority at that time in introversion for the men(people) "sailors lost at sea " and a place of gratitude with the deposit(warehouse) of thanksgiving plaque for the luckiest come back safe and sound of fishing season.
