À propos du lieu

Villa Le Caruhel

This villa was built by 1913 at the heart of a seaside domain. It was acquired(bought back) in 1925 by Fricotelle, rich importer of cigarette paper, who(which) makes it extend. Work is confided(entrusted) to the Parisian architect Jean de La Morinerie, who makes a house in two floors in a modernist style limited(eased) by neoclassical reminiscence. Decoration, particularly treated, is inspired of the flora and the marine fauna, according to drawings of Mathurin Méheut. Wrought-iron crafts realised by Edgar Brandt and Raymond Subes, and the mosaics of Isidore Odorico reword so a submarine world of a big(great) realism. The Japanese garden, most probably conceived(designed) from 1913, adorns with a very waterfall(stunt) decorated with mosaics.
