Built in the mouth of Penfeld and dominating the arsenal of Brest, the castle is militarily occupied of a way almost interrupted for the 3rd century. He(It) benefited from numerous works of restoration(catering) a spectacular slice(edge) of which has ended recently with the complete repair of the rooms of the donjon. The restoration(catering) of the inside of tours(towers,ballots) Paradise is under way. The castle shelters the national museum of navy, museum most visited of Finistère. The naval prefecture of the Atlantic is built within the site. Miraculously saved(spared), the medieval castle is the most old(former) historical monument of Brest. The seventeen centuries of history(story) shelter the national museum of Navy today. The national museum of Navy redraws the history(story) of navy and certifies narrow links between this history(story) and the city of Brest. He is in a way heir of the room of models of ships. Installed(Settled) in 1826 on the first floor by the workshop(studio) of sculptures of the arsenal of Brest, collections, evacuated in Morlaix during the Second World War, were transferred in 1958 in tours(towers,ballots) Paradise of the castle.
