The European Heritage Days at the Château de Josselin Stopover in the time of Olivier de Clisson Olivier de Clisson, the future Connétable de France, acquired the Château de Josselin in 1370 and transformed it into an impregnable fortress. Its century, the 14th century, is an exciting time! It is the century of knights, first journalists and the invention of fashion!

Of style Flamboyant Gothic, this castle offers a remarkable evidence of feudal architecture and of rennaissance. Furniture(Movable) whole exception. A first fortress, built in 1008 by the viscount of Porthoët, is destroyed in 1168 by Henry II Plantagenet. In the 12th century, construction of a fortified town reinforced in the 14th century by a line of curtains connecting(binding) nine tours(towers,ballots). Between 1490 and 1510, reconstruction of the manor of house and edification of the facade Renaissance on court(yard). In 1629, in the course of fight(wrestling) against the Huguenots, Richelieu makes bring(shoot) down the donjon. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the castle is abandoned then used as prison.
