The seigniory of Combourg was a break-up of the seigniory of the archbishops of Dol(Fraud) and raised(found) archbishops undoubtedly, at origin. She managed to free herself from this ecclesiastical suzerainty and to recover almost only of the Duke. The castle was built by 1025 by the archbishop Guinguené who gave it to his illegitimate(half-baked) brother Riwallon. It is in 1761 when the family of Chateaubriand acquired property. Restored in 1866 and in 1878, the castle consists of four large and powerful granite buildings(ships) matched, provided with crenels(niches) and machicolation locking a rectangular court(yard). This massive fortress is flanked(thrown), in four angles, round towers with crenels(niches) and machicolation, in conical roofing. The machicolations of the north curtain and those of the northwest tower present on their three faces of cantilevers to four projections; those of the northeast tower are in three projections only; they support(bear) lintels adorned with feigned trilobes registered in broken arcatures. The inside was also entirely restored. His(Her,Its) chapel still sees itself at the entrance(admission) of the hall of honour. The big(great) room of the Guards trains(forms) two lounges(shows) today. The current park replaces old(former) mails.
