Rock Star #PhotosEvelyneCoutas The Rolling Stones in Dinard? Yes! This summer, Villa Les Roches Brunes is hosting the exhibition «Rock Star #PhotosEvelyneCoutas», where you will be able to discover, in preview, the scene photos of these British icons of Rock as well as many others.
More than 100 photographs, mostly black and white silver prints, digital prints including some life-size prints, will share the history of this musical phenomenon, from 1976 to today, through the artistic approach of a photographer, Evelyne Coutas.
Evelyne Coutas, Photographer Evelyne Coutas studied architecture and sculpture at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris, then studied visual arts. In 1983, she introduced photography into her artistic practice, exploiting the qualities of light and the properties of the sensitive medium to answer the questions of reality and photography.
His first photographs are made in the light of the full moon in his bedroom: they pave the way for an exploitation of the medium that will be constantly renewed.
Passionate about music and rock dance, assistant to Michel Journiac, initiator of Body art, she participates in Rock concerts of the most famous bands. She photographed them by capturing their poses, their gestures, their strength and their violence that are expressed in all the photos that we will make you discover.
Whether through the experimentation of pure light, the body, the use and the atypical combination of technical and personal plastic derivatives, the images of Evelyne Coutas problematize in a poetic order, the subtle relationship that can be established between form and substance through photography.
Françoise Wasserman, Curator of the exhibition, is general curator of honorary heritage, sociologist & ethnologist
Françoise Wasserman, the curator of the exhibition sought to reinforce by the museographic journey, by the selection of photos of these iconic figures captured on the spot, by the presentation of collector objects, the contrast between the noble rooms of the villa Les Roches Brunes and the vital energy of groups such as Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, MC5, Sex Pistols and many others…
Showing Rock is one thing but you also have to listen to it, discover it or rediscover it, this is the offer that will make us the exhibition where throughout the journey, musical sequences will accompany the visitor, punctuated by guitars of legend.
After missions for UNESCO, she created and directed the Val de Bièvres-Fresnes Ecomuseum. She exhibited contemporary artists and photographers.
