Manoir de Kernault
Manoir de Kernault, 29300, Mellac
The manor of Kernault was built by 1420-1430 by the family of Talhouët. Jean de Talhouët, who was in 1420 clerk of silver plate to the Chamber(Room) of Accounts, fills(performs) between 1423 and 1433 functions(offices) of director for the hotel of the Duchess de Bretagne. The home underwent a repair in 1627 (floors, fireplaces) which did not change the structure of the medieval building. The common(shared) south in pieces of wood, of the same type as the gallery of Tréhardet in Bignan, were built at the same time. The home knew a new campaign(countryside) of refitting(reorganisation) by 1750, with the installation of a new internal decoration(set) by Forester the Young person and the enlargement of the openings of south elevation. In spite of these occasions and the addition of some adventitious buildings(ships) in the 19th and 20th centuries, the set(group) kept(preserved) a medieval and classic quality decoration(set) and house representative of a rural noble house of 15th - 17th centuries.
