Discovery of the digital model of the Château de Vitré
The digital model of the castle is an innovative application that restores the historical and architectural evolution of the fortress and its surroundings in six distinct eras, from the early times of the building in the 11th century to the present day, through its peak in 1530 and its near ruin in 1860. This application presented on a tactile table allows visitors to understand in an interactive and playful way the genesis and development of the site.
Installed in the museum in front of a pre-existing physical model, it increases the experience of visitors by offering them in 3 languages (French, English, Spanish): - For each period, additional information (iconography and texts) on the history of the city and the building, in connection with the more global context of the Marches of Brittany and the Kingdom of France, - A gallery of the main characters who marked the history of the city, from the founder of the Riwallon barony to the architect in charge of the restoration of the castle in the 19th century, Denis Darcy, - A glossary explaining in simple and precise terms the main architectural features of the building.
