The facade in the classic sequencing(order to pay), of this old(former) mansion between court(yard) and garden, is significant of the civil architecture of the XVIIIth century. This building gives way to the prefectural hotel in 1823\. Works of enlargement necessary for the installation of the prefectural administration led(drove) to elevation of galleries and of extensions. The balcony on columns and balustrades were added to the facade main continuation(suite) in a bombardment in 1940\. The park is listed(classified) in conformance with(for) the law of 1930 on sites and natural monuments. Besides, two big(great) tapestries of the factory of Gobelins dating the XVIIth century, resulting(coming) from the cathedral of Nevers and currently placed in the cabinet(office) of the Prefect, are listed(classified) Historic monuments.
