The present building was erected in 1737 to replace an older church located at the southern entrance of the faubourg. The facade and campanile of the building are classified as Historical Monuments in 1965, the rest of the church is inscribed in the same year. Following the restoration work carried out in 2019, the church has recovered its original Baroque façade.
