Located close to ducales Halle and to old(former) convent of the Cordeliers, the Hôtel-Dieu occupies, even today, a large location at the heart of the city of Beaune. Under its constructions pour the river Bouzaise which allowed the evacuation of the wastes of any order. Buildings(Ships) are arranged around the main courtyard. On the street, the big(great) wing, stone of size and slate, shelters the room of Pôvres and the community of the hospitable(hospital) sisters. The entrance(entry), marked by an audacious(adventurous) canopy, is made directly above(below) the bell tower which culminates about 50 m of height. It is in the main courtyard that they discover buildings(ships) covered with glazed tiles which make the originality of this building, with its long gallery with wooden pieces and his(her,its) big(great) small windows in Flemish fashion. In following courts(yards), lives(remains) a part(party) of the hospitable(hospital) activity of the site, as well as the cuverie old(former), opened at the time of the famous sale of wines of Homes Civilians de Beaune which takes place on 3rd Sunday of November. Visit begins with the room of Pôvres, centre if it is, magnificently restored by Maurice Ouradou, son-in-law of Viollet-le-Duc there, in 1875\. At once, stateroom and treatment room, to welcome "our Lords poor people". Then, you will discover other rooms of sick done up over the centuries to fit continuously to evolutions of medicine and of cares. The cooking(kitchen), the apothicairerie will charm you. In the room Saint-Louis, you will admire the dishes(crockery) of tin, two curtains in tapestry and rare set(group) of safes(chests) of the XVth century, commanded(ordered) for the hospital and you will end your visit by grandiose polyptych of the Last Judgment, work of Rogier of him(it) Pasture or van der Weyden intended(designed) to trim the master(teacher) altar of the chapel.
