The Château de Commarin is one of the few castles in France that were never sold or looted during the French Revolution.
Belonging to the same family for more than 900 years, still inhabited, Commarin offers the Visitor the experience of a living Castle, still inhabited, whose large apartments installed with refinement in the eighteenth century by the grandmother of Talleyrand, Marie-Judith of Vienna.

For the 9 centuries in the same descendants, redeveloped in the XVIIIth century by the marchioness d' Antigny, grandmother of the famous Evêque Prince de Talleyrand, Secretary de Napoleon, Commarin present a remarkable decorative set(group). Its unique(only) collection of heraldic tapestries of the XVIth century, its works of art, sound furniture and its objects as well as the wealth of decorations of the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries, are living evidence and rare of generations which followed one another to it.
