La Tuilerie Laurent
It was in 1862 that François Laurent, working at the Aisy-Sous-Thil tile factory, had the idea of taking clay from his handkerchief along a road from Thil-la-Ville to the town of Nan-sous-Thil.
From this clay are born some flat tiles, baked in the oven of his boss. At the time of delivery, he noted with satisfaction the apparent quality of his test. He decided to buy a plot of this land to realize his dream: to make tiles with the clay of Thil. This is how the Tuilerie Laurent was born.
In the summer of 1988, Eric came to help his father and undertook important work to facilitate the handling of products. It was in 1990 that he officially became the fourth generation to make this Tuilerie work.
After demolishing the old wood kilns, Eric acquired more modern and economical gas kilns in 1999 and 2008. With these two ovens and a good organization of the work, it now ensures a quality manufacturing and in honorable time.
Eric having been alone in the company for several years, and after thirty-two years of good and loyal services, Colin decides to come and work with him to take over in 2022. It’s time for the fifth generation!
