The village is located on the last southern slopes of the Morvan (Mont Thouleur, Montjouan, Mont Genièvre are visible from Chiddes) and is dominated by Mont Charlet, which has at its top a small concrete religious monument and a table of orientation. The village is at 317 meters of altitude, but the communal finage ranges between 515 meters and 244 meters for an average altitude of 380 meters. From the village, the view extends also far to the south. It is reached by the departmental road D 985 (Route Buissonnière) (direction Saint-Honoré-les-Bains) from Luzy and Les Vernées, 8 km, take on the right the D 124.
