Vichy destinations
The exile of the French government led him to Tours, through Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand and ended at the beginning of July 1940 in Vichy. Its hotel capacity and the presence of a modern telephone switchboard led the government to take Vichy as its place of residence. Until August 1944, the requisitioned hotels and villas housed the ministries and officials of the French State.
