Built from the end of the 17th century, the building was once the former major seminary of the diocese of Geneva and then of Annecy. It now houses the departmental collections, the documentary resource centers (collections, archaeology, Second World War), the library of the former Grand Seminary, the culture and heritage services of the Department, CITIA (City of the moving image), the exhibition space dedicated to animated cinema and managed by the Museums of the Annecy area, as well as a rehearsal room for the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie.
