A focus on the rites and traditions of Savoyard, thanks to exceptional loans from private persons, also allows to better understand the uses and customs of these valleys. Thanks also to loans from public institutions and local associations, and to the research of the Association du patrimoine des Marches (Savoie), the exhibition revisits the laws and rites of marriage in France and Savoie. It recounts the economic, social and religious issues that have changed this practice and draws through them the struggle for the emancipation of women and their rights within our societies.
