Mairie de Nomexy
13 rue de l'Hôtel de ville, 88440 Nomexy
A small town on the left bank of the Moselle for about 4.5 km, Nomexy retains the traces of its distant past at the place where its tributary Avière flows. Its origins date back to the earliest times: its name has evolved over the centuries. In turn it took the form of Nomberceis in 1186, Nombrexei in 1327, and Nommexey in 1565\. It was not until the end of the 17th century that the present form Nommexy, then Nomexy, appeared for the first time. It is appropriate to pronounce Nomcy.
