Chapelle Saint-Maurice

Beaumont-en-Verdunois is one of nine villages declared “Dead for France” and not rebuilt after the First World War.
Rectangles of earth draw the location of the destroyed houses. One sees the entrance of the collapsed cellars. A small Saint-Maurice chapel erected in the heart of the town, next to the monument to the dead was built in 1933\. At the top, a remnant of the pre-war period, the communal cemetery, with its pre-war graves, seems to watch over the commune.
A Vauthier bollard is visible at Beaumont.
