Discover a casemate built in the 1930s.

The casemate was commissioned in 1940 by Lieutenant Klein. The West firing chamber covered with its fires the D 58 road which connects the villages of Angevillers and Escherange towards the West and the block 9 of the GO of Rochonvillers (we can see block 9 from the west bell of the casemate). The East firing chamber covered the casemate of Escherange Ouest. You will also discover a refueling track (Renault UE1) restored.

The casemates, like that of the Grand Lot or Petersberg, are concrete blocks with a firing chamber and a basement ensuring the continuity of the fires between two more imposing structures. In Escherange, they are located in a bucolic setting, where a walk can take you to the ruins of the old church (Alte Kirch), or to small exceptional military heritage, like an old buried tank!
