Dive into the history of a little-known Roman villa in Lorraine!

The archaeological site of the Roman villa of Lana, discovered in 1968, is an exceptional and unknown site in Lorraine. The area cleared by the excavations was identified as the thermal baths of a rural settlement.
Spread over about 700 m2, it contains changing rooms, hot and cold baths, as well as technical spaces ensuring the operation of hypocausts (underfloor heating system), but also probable living rooms. This site is exceptional for its state of conservation (walls of 1.70 m high in places) and for its rich furniture visible in the museum of the castle of Middle (pottery, glassware, jewelry, tabletterie, elements of architecture...).
You also have the possibility to visit the museum and the archaeological site of Lana freely between 13:30 and 18:30 on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 September.

À propos du lieu

Château "Qui qu'en grogne"
9 Rue du Château, 54118 Moyen

The castle "Qui qu'en grogne" was built by the Bishops of Metz in the 15th century. Its architecture is adapted to artillery. It thus has a particular military history until its dismantling by Richelieu in 1639\. Moyen is then located in bishopric land and is the chief town of a châtellenie not integrated in the Duchy of Lorraine.
The manor house, restored, hosts exhibitions: tools of the stonemason and the carpenter, agricultural museum, classroom 1900, exhibition "Vive la mule!" (donkeys, mules, mules and horses: traction, transport and portage).
