À propos du lieu

Village de Quincy-Landzécourt
Bourg, 55600 Quincy-Landzécourt
  • Meuse
  • Grand Est
The villages of Quincy and Landzécourt, separated by the bridge over the Loison, were united in one commune in 1957\.
Some architectural elements deserve your attention during your walk in the village, including some door lintels dating mostly from the 19th century.
Also discover the sundial with Roman numerals, rue de la Vaux, dated 1701\. Its moulded cornice allows to reject rainwater. The pedestrian gate, whose year of construction “year 9” appears in five intertwined rings with a floral motif in the centre. The left corner chain features a sundial damaged by shrapnel during the Second World War.
The tower of the church of Saint-Martin is decorated with three clock dials made by Bodet in 1910\. Three small bells from 1930, located outside, serve as a bell.
According to popular tradition, the water of the Saint-Maurice fountain, located rue Basse in Landzécourt, would allow to cure eye diseases. Until 1900, mothers came to soak their laundry in the hope of a cure.
