The abbey of the Tight is based(established) in 1140 at the request of bishop of Verdun Albéron of Chiny. The abbey is attached to the order of Prémontrés and takes the term of the Annunciation Notre-Dame in 1147\. The place, humid, asks for pipes and for creation of ponds on behalf of the community, where from the name abbey of the Tight. Up to date on the XVIIth century, the whole monastery is transformed but will undergo Swedish invasions. In the XVIIIth century, chapel and conventual buildings(ships) are rebuilt, such as visible(obvious) today.
Sold to revolutionary times(weathers), the abbey becomes farm, the cloister, barnyard. In 1914, the site associated with the salient of Saint-Mihiel, is strengthened by the German army, a blockhouse is always ready(in position). The abbey will undergo the devastation of fights, its roofing is burnt down. The abbey of the Tight is registered in conformance with(for) historic monuments in 1984\. However, although having found some time his(her,its) role of farm, buildings(ships), abandoned(given up) again, are pervaded by fallow lands, roofing collapses.
2018-2019: urgent works are under consideration.

Located in the hollow of a valley of the Meuse coast in the town of Lamorville, the old abbey of Étanche is isolated from any civilization and is easily accessible only by a forest road from the village of Deuxnouds-aux-Bois.
