Discover the life of the soldiers of the Maginot line in the shelters of intervals. A mission not very known for these soldiers who occupied the intervals of the Maginot line.

The shelter of Bilmette is a shelter of surface of the Maginot line. Real barracks was concreted(consolidated), he welcomed about 80 men(people) who could live under a "cocoon" of 2,50 m of concrete there. Comfort with the electricity supplied by generators, but also cookings(kitchens) in coal or else different barracks there was found all. One are visited there the room of filters as well as the used defences. These different equipments will be put back(handed) in function(office) for opportunity(occasion).
The shelter of Bilmette, always serviceman, is open to the public only on the occasion of European Heritage Days.
Possibility of restoring on the spot.

Shelter of surface of the Maginot line, the shelter of Bilmette is an autonomous unity(unit) which had as mission to accommodate 80 men(people) and 2 officers. His staffs occupied the intervals of the Maginot line. Consisted of two floors, he(it) was endowed with modern materials(equipments) with a power station, a cooking(kitchen), a room of filters, of barracks, a telephone exchange... His(Her,Its) defence is established(constituted) of rifles gunners and mortar of 50 and the huge concrete walls 2,50 m.
