The Faculty of law of Nancy is initially the one of Pont-à-Mousson, created by a Bulle du Pape Grégoire XIII in 1572\. In 1768, Louis XV transfers the University of Pont-à-Mousson in Nancy. On November 11th, 1778, Faculties of law and faculties(powers) of of medicine settle down solemnly in the Palace of the University, the current Local Library(Bookcase) of Nancy. The decree of 7 ventôse a the year III (February 25th, 1795) creates the Central Schools, getting deleted all old(former) establishments of public instruction. The École Centrale(French engineering school) of the department of the Meurthe is created by the decree of the April 1st(April Fools's Day) 1796\. The law of May 1st, 1802 on public instruction created the Special Schools, which replace the Central Schools of departments. That of the Meurthe, in Nancy, is officially closed the 1st nivôse a the year XII (December 23rd, 1803), pulling(entailing) with her the end of the education(teaching) of the right(law) for Nancy. The Special Schools become Faculties of law by the law of the 10 mai1806 creating the Imperial University. The Faculty of law of Nancy will be restored by decree of January 9th, 1864.
