Oft diskret für das uninformierte Auge, sind die Überreste der Antike dennoch zahlreich in der südlichen Aquitanien. In den Städten wie auf dem Land zeugen sie von der römischen Präsenz und den tiefgreifenden Veränderungen, die diese Gebiete zwischen dem 1. Jahrhundert v. Chr. und dem 5. Jahrhundert v. Chr. geprägt haben.
Diese Konferenz schlägt vor, in die südliche Aquitaine der Römerzeit einzutauchen, um zu verstehen, wie sich diese Gesellschaft am Rande der römischen Welt strukturiert hat. Ausgehend von Daten aus neueren archäologischen Forschungen und einer Dissertation über die Organisation antiker Räume erforscht sie die Städte, das Land, die handwerklichen Aktivitäten und die Verkehrsnetze, die die damalige Landschaft bildeten.
Dank der Kreuzanalyse dieser Informationen in einem digitalen kartografischen System (GIS) ist es möglich, die Logik der Implantation und die Nutzung des Gebiets zu rekonstruieren. Das Ziel: ein besseres Verständnis dafür, wie die lokale Bevölkerung den römischen Einfluss integriert hat und gleichzeitig vorromanische Hinterlassenschaften bewahrt hat, wodurch eine ursprüngliche aquitanische-römische Gesellschaft entstand.
Eine Einladung, hinter den heutigen Landschaften des Südwestens die Spuren einer zwei Jahrtausende alten sozialen und territorialen Organisation zu entdecken.

Often discreet for the untrained eye, the vestiges of Antiquity are however numerous in southern Aquitaine. In the cities as well as in the countryside, they bear witness to the Roman presence and the profound transformations that marked these territories between the 1st century BC and the 5th century AD.
This conference offers a dive into southern Aquitaine during the Roman era to understand how this society located at the edge of the Roman world was structured. Based on data from recent archaeological research and a thesis devoted to the organization of ancient spaces, it explores the cities, countryside, craft activities and traffic networks that formed the landscape of the time.
Thanks to the cross-analysis of this information in a digital cartographic system (GIS), it becomes possible to reconstruct the logics of implantation and the uses of the territory. The objective: to better understand how the local populations integrated the Roman influence while preserving pre-Roman heritages, giving rise to an original Aquitaine-Roman society.
An invitation to discover, behind the current landscapes of the Southwest, the traces of a social and territorial organization dating back two millennia.

Spesso discreti per l'occhio non avvistato, i resti dell'antichità sono tuttavia numerosi nell'Aquitania meridionale. Sia nelle città che nelle campagne testimoniano la presenza romana e le profonde trasformazioni che hanno segnato questi territori tra il I secolo a.C. e il V secolo d.C.
Questa conferenza propone di immergersi nell'Aquitania meridionale in epoca romana per comprendere come si è strutturata questa società situata ai confini del mondo romano. A partire dai dati provenienti da ricerche archeologiche recenti e da una tesi dedicata all'organizzazione degli spazi antichi, esplora le città, le campagne, le attività artigianali e le reti di circolazione che formavano il paesaggio dell'epoca.
Grazie all'analisi incrociata di queste informazioni in un sistema cartografico digitale (SIG), diventa possibile ricostruire le logiche di impianto e gli usi del territorio. L'obiettivo: comprendere meglio come le popolazioni locali abbiano assimilato l'influenza romana conservando al tempo stesso le eredità preromane, dando vita a una società originale italo-romana.
Un invito a scoprire, dietro i paesaggi attuali del Sud-Ovest, le tracce di una organizzazione sociale e territoriale millenaria.

Souvent discrets pour l’œil non averti, les vestiges de l’Antiquité sont pourtant nombreux en Aquitaine méridionale. Dans les villes comme dans les campagnes, ils témoignent de la présence romaine et des profondes transformations qui ont marqué ces territoires entre le Ier siècle a.C. et le Ve siècle p.C.
Cette conférence propose de plonger dans l’Aquitaine méridionale à l’époque romaine pour comprendre comment s’est structurée cette société située aux confins du monde romain. À partir des données issues de recherches archéologiques récentes et d’une thèse consacrée à l’organisation des espaces antiques, elle explore les villes, les campagnes, les activités artisanales et les réseaux de circulation qui formaient le paysage de l’époque.
Grâce à l’analyse croisée de ces informations dans un système cartographique numérique (SIG), il devient possible de reconstituer les logiques d’implantation et les usages du territoire. Tanto en las ciudades como en el campo, dan testimonio de la presencia romana y de las profundas transformaciones que marcaron estos territorios entre el siglo I a. C. y el siglo V a. C.
Esta conferencia propone sumergirse en la Aquitania meridional de la época romana para entender cómo se estructuró esta sociedad situada en los confines del mundo romano. A partir de datos procedentes de investigaciones arqueológicas recientes y de una tesis dedicada a la organización de los espacios antiguos, explora las ciudades, los campos, las actividades artesanales y las redes de circulación que formaban el paisaje de la época.
