2bis Rue Maurice Denis, 78100 Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France
Former royal general hospital founded at the end of the 17th century. The original project provides for the construction of two wings arranged symmetrically on either side of a chapel, on the medieval model of the Hôtel-Dieu. The south wing houses the service and administration rooms, a monumental staircase with double revolution, as well as the sick rooms on two gallery levels. The keystone of the old kitchens (current reception of the Museum) is dated 1692\. The chapel is dedicated to Saint Louis. In 1718, the work was interrupted. The north wing would never be built, causing the chapel to lose its regulatory role of symmetry.
