Ilajan is the musical project of two sisters, created to explore the shifting borders between folk, pop and ambient. Blending muted guitars, enchanting vocal harmonies and subtle electronic experimentation, they craft a soundscape that invites surrender and contemplation. Their harmonic sensibility and melodic finesse recall artists such as Keaton Henson, Meimuna, Pomme or November Ultra. In their songs, notes are allowed to breathe and drift, creating a soft, lightly melancholic atmosphere. Whether singing in English or French, their poetic lyrics deepen the dreamlike and delicate feel of their music. In 2023, the duo released their debut EP Villes de Papier on Humus Records. Their first full-length album is set for release in autumn 2025.
Self-taught and resourceful, Léa Martinez has always lived close to music in one form or another. Drawing from her experiences working alongside artists, as a photographer, technician and lighting engineer, she has gradually shaped her own musical identity. Her debut EP Threshold, released this year on Humus Records, conjures vast, arid plains stretching endlessly to the horizon. In this sparse, elemental landscape, her seemingly fragile voice slowly emerges and carves out space to be heard. Martinez takes her time building the scene, giving depth and resonance to her songs and drawing listeners into a world tinted with rock, blues and folk
The event will be preceded by a short walk starting from the Le Balcon Library and ending at the surprise concert venue.

Ilajan, c’est le projet musical monté par deux sœurs pour explorer les frontières de la folk, de la pop et de l’ambiant. Mêlant guitares feutrées, chœurs envoûtants et expérimentations électroniques, les deux artistes composent un univers propice à l’abandon et à la rêverie contemplative. Leur recherche harmonique et le soin qu’elles apportent aux mélodies ne sont pas sans rappeler Keaton Henson, Meimuna, Pomme ou encore November Ultra. Dans leurs morceaux, elles laissent les notes s’envoler, résonner et créer une atmosphère douce et teintée d’une légère mélancolie. En anglais comme en français, leurs textes poétiques participent pleinement de cette ambiance onirique et délicate. En 2023, le duo sortait son premier EP, Villes de papier, chez Humus Records. Son premier album est prévu pour l’automne 2025.
Débrouillarde et autodidacte, Léa Martinez a toujours côtoyé la musique, sous diverses formes. Elle s’est nourrie de ses expériences auprès d’artistes en tant que photographe, technicienne et ingénieure lumière pour façonner sa propre identité musicale. Son premier EP, Threshold, sorti cette année chez Humus Records, évoque de grandes plaines désertes, arides, s’étendant à perte de vue, au milieu desquelles sa voix faussement fragile se fraie lentement un chemin pour se faire entendre. Léa Martinez prend le temps de poser le décor pour donner de la consistance à ses chansons et mieux nous entraîner dans son univers teinté de rock, de blues et de folk.
