Equally at ease with singing and rapping, Evita Koné puts her voice first and foremost in the service of groove. Navigating effortlessly between hip-hop, neo-soul, and R’n’B, the singer blends genres as she sees fit, drawing inspiration from her Swiss, Chadian, and American roots. Well-established in the local scene as the vocalist for Geneva-based group Captains Of The Imagination, she also launched a solo career that earned her the Swiss Live Talents award in 2022.
Her debut EP, Break — produced by Swiss beatmaker Christophe Calpini, known for his work with Alain Bashung, Rodolphe Burger, and Erik Truffaz — allowed her to assert her musical identity while breaking free from convention. From velvety soul to brooding hip-hop, from a deep, powerful voice to razor-sharp flow, Evita Koné does it all — even trip-hop, as shown in the track End Game, where the influences of Lauryn Hill and Tricky intertwine seamlessly
In her lyrics, she weaves together personal storytelling with political and social commentary — Drums, for instance, denounces the oppression of women and non-binary people.
She now returns with a preview of her new solo album, Build + Bloom — a much-anticipated and intimate performance at the Caves de Versoix, where her evolving artistry takes center stage.

Aussi à l’aise dans le chant que dans le rap, Evita Koné met avant tout sa voix au service du groove. Naviguant entre le hip-hop, la neo soul et le R’n’B, la chanteuse saute d’un genre à l’autre, les fusionne au besoin, et puise son inspiration dans ses origines suisses, tchadiennes et américaines. Bien ancrée dans la scène locale en tant que chanteuse du groupe genevois Captains Of The Imagination, elle se lance en parallèle dans une carrière solo qui lui vaut le prix Swiss Live Talents en 2022. Break, son premier EP – réalisé en collaboration avec le producteur romand Christophe Calpini qui a entre autres travaillé avec Alain Bashung, Rodolphe Burger et Erik Truffaz – lui permet de s’affirmer musicalement en s’affranchissant de toute contrainte. Soul ouatée ou hip-hop sombre, voix profonde et puissante ou flow parfaitement plaqué, Evita Koné sait tout faire, jusqu’au trip hop comme le prouve le titre End Game où se combinent adroitement les influences de Lauryn Hill et de Tricky. Dans ses textes, elle aborde autant son histoire personnelle que des revendications politiques et sociétales – ainsi, dans Drums, elle dénonce l’oppression des femmes et des personnes non-binaires. Elle revient cette année avec de nouveaux titres, à découvrir aux Caves de Versoix à l’occasion de ce concert intimiste et très attendu.
