The church, whose construction began in 1716, was completed, as far as structural works are concerned, in 1725; however, it will only be completed and opened for worship in 1751.
This composite-style church still relates to the late Baroque period. But it enjoys an exceptional originality, that of its cruciform plan, with a quadrilobate shape, which can only be found in the early Christian East.
After climbing 5 steps, we cross the entrance gate surrounded by two pilasters. The high altar, surmounted by an altarpiece whose painting located in the center has been recently restored, placed facing the entrance, is located at the back of the central apse, called the choir, framed by two doors opening on the sacristy and on the rise of the bell tower.
The two side chapels are dedicated to Mary as well as to Joseph and Saint-Maurice, Patron Saint of Chamousset.
The stained glass windows, seven in number, and the canopies allow the outside light to penetrate.
