Es war einmal ein sehr gelehrter König, der eine riesige Bibliothek hatte, gefüllt mit allen Büchern, die den Dingen Sinn geben konnten. Er war in Bücher verliebt, aber auch in seinen Garten. Jede Blume, jede Frucht, jeder Baum war so gepflegt, dass alles perfekt glänzte. Aber eines Tages, während eines Spaziergangs in seinem Garten, entdeckt der König einen schwachen und zerbrechlichen Rosenstrauch ohne einen einzigen Rosenknospe! Er rennt in seine Bibliothek, um zu verstehen warum. Eingeschlossen zwischen seinen Steinmauern blättert er Seite für Seite. Der Faden seiner Lesungen lässt ihn dann viele andere Geheimnisse erahnen: wenn die Blumen manchmal geheim sind, sprechen die Steine dagegen gerne...

Once upon a time, there was a very learned king who had an immense library filled with all the books that could give meaning to things. He was in love with books but he was also in love with his garden. Every flower, every fruit, every tree was so well cared for that everything was of a perfect shine. But one day, during a walk in his garden, the king discovers a puny and sickly rose bush without a single rosebud! He runs in his library to understand why. Locked within its stone walls, he scrolls page after page. The thread of his readings then makes him glimpse many other mysteries: if the flowers sometimes become secret, the stones, on the other hand, speak willingly...

Una volta c'era un re molto erudito che aveva una biblioteca immensa piena di tutti i libri che potevano dare significato alle cose. Era innamorato dei libri, ma era anche innamorato del suo giardino. Ogni fiore, ogni frutto, ogni albero era così ben curato che tutto era di un perfetto splendore. Ma un giorno, durante una passeggiata nel suo giardino, il re scopre una rosa debole e malingrate senza un solo bocciolo di rosa! Corre nella sua biblioteca per capire perché. Chiuso tra le sue mura di pietra, scorre pagina dopo pagina. Il filo delle sue letture gli fa intravedere molti altri misteri: se i fiori si fanno a volte segreti, le pietre, invece, parlano volentieri...

Il était une fois un roi très savant qui avait une immense bibliothèque remplie de tous les livres qui pouvaient donner du sens aux choses. Il était amoureux des livres mais il était aussi amoureux de son jardin. Chaque fleur, chaque fruit, chaque arbre était si bien soigné que tout était d'un éclat parfait. Mais un jour, au cours d'une promenade dans son jardin, le roi découvre un rosier chétif et malingre sans un seul bouton de rose ! Il court dans sa bibliothèque afin de comprendre pourquoi. Enfermé entre ses murs de pierre, il fait défiler page après page. Le fil de ses lectures lui fait alors entrevoir bien d'autres mystères : si les fleurs se font parfois secrètes, les pierres, quant à elles, parlent volontiers...

Había una vez un rey muy sabio que tenía una inmensa biblioteca llena de todos los libros que podían dar sentido a las cosas. Estaba enamorado de los libros pero también de su jardín. Cada flor, cada fruto, cada árbol estaba tan bien cuidado que todo era de un brillo perfecto. Pero un día, durante un paseo por su jardín, el rey descubre una rosea débil y malingrate sin un solo botón de rosa! Corre a su biblioteca para entender por qué. Encerrado entre sus paredes de piedra, desliza página tras página. El hilo de sus lecturas le hace entrever muchos otros misterios: si las flores se hacen a veces secretas, las piedras, por su parte, hablan con gusto...
