The departure of the walk is scheduled at 6 p.m. at the library of Saint-Saturnin-du-Bois and will end with a friendly moment and a collection of memories at the archaeological site in Saint-Saturnin-du-Bois.

In 2008, archaeologists discovered a well-preserved Gallo-Roman villa after more than 2,000 years of sleep... Several buildings span more than 4,000 m². After its abandonment at the end of antiquity, new inhabitants took possession of the place at the very beginning of the Middle Ages. The villa has been continuously inhabited for more than eight centuries! Recently, the archaeological site has been vegetated to raise awareness of the fragility of the environment through history and archaeology. A collaboration has been established with "la Trame verte et bleue", one of the major French national projects from the Grenelle de l'Environnement. Discover the hidden secrets of the archaeological site and this rural heritage through an increasingly rich programme of cultural events, by guided tours enlightening your discovery of the place or by workshops leading to the playful experimentation of archaeology.
