The association Maison de Banlieue et de l'Architecture is a centre for the interpretation of the urban environment, heritage in the suburbs and architecture, located in Athis-Mons, in the territory of the «Portes de l'Essonne». Its objective is to: - sensitize all audiences to history, heritage, architecture, landscape… in the suburbs, - develop educational actions towards young audiences, - enrich and share knowledge about the suburbs, - upgrade cities of «Modest art and Simple stories». It proposes: - Thematic exhibitions to better understand the production and transformation of the Essonnian territory, accompanied by publications. - Cultural activities (visits, conferences, screenings, etc. around the current exhibition or other topics, thematic heritage routes). - For school and leisure centres: classroom interventions and field visits or exhibitions (free for school children). - A documentation centre gathering books, films, photographs, plans, etc.
