Im Jahr 1888 schrieb Vincent van Gogh in Arles: "Es reizt mich sehr - nicht das Trinken, sondern die Gangstermalerei." Entgegen den Normen öffnet er eine Lücke.
Die Ausstellung "SUSPECTS - Van Gogh, Tricksters & Co." fügt sich in diese Dynamik ein: Sie ist gewidmet den Künstlern, die sich für den Dissens statt für die Konformität entschieden haben, für den Exzess statt für das Maß durch fast einhundertzwanzig Werke - Gemälde, Fotografien, Installationen und Videos -, die von Ironie, Provokation und Absurdität geprägt sind.
Dreiunddreißig Künstler, von Pablo Picasso über Cindy Sherman bis hin zu Bruce Nauman, Maurizio Cattelan oder Nina Childress, verlagern unseren Blick, stellen unsere Überzeugungen in Frage und sprengen die Konventionen.

Free access to the new exhibition "SUSPECTS – Van Gogh, Tricksters & Co."
The night is conducive to venturing on the side of those who transgress the rules of propriety.
In 1888, Vincent van Gogh wrote in Arles: "I am so tempted – not by drink but by the painting of thugs." Contrary to norms, he is opening a breach.
The exhibition "SUSPECTS – Van Gogh, Tricksters & Co." is part of this momentum: it is dedicated to to the artists who chose dissent rather than conformity, excess rather than measure through nearly one hundred and twenty works – paintings, photographs, installations and videos – full of irony, provocation and absurdity.
Thirty-three artists, from Pablo Picasso to Cindy Sherman, via Bruce Nauman, Maurizio Cattelan or Nina Childress, shift our gaze, shake up convictions, and shatter conventions.

La mostra "SUSPECTS - Van Gogh, Tricksters & Co." si inserisce in questo slancio: è dedicata agli artisti che hanno scelto il dissenso piuttosto che la conformità, l'eccesso piuttosto che la misura attraverso circa centoventi opere - dipinti, fotografie, installazioni e video - intrise di ironia, provocazione e assurdo.
Trentatré artisti, da Pablo Picasso a Cindy Sherman, passando per Bruce Nauman, Maurizio Cattelan o Nina Childress, spostano il nostro sguardo, sfidano le convinzioni, fanno esplodere le convenzioni.

L’exposition « SUSPECTS – Van Gogh, Tricksters & Co. » s’inscrit dans cet élan : elle est consacrée aux artistes qui ont choisi la dissidence plutôt que la conformité, l’excès plutôt que la mesure à travers près de cent vingt d’œuvres – des peintures, photographies, installations et vidéos – empreintes d’ironie, de provocation et d’absurde.
Trente-trois artistes, de Pablo Picasso à Cindy Sherman, en passant par Bruce Nauman, Maurizio Cattelan ou Nina Childress, déplacent notre regard, bousculent les convictions, font exploser les conventions.
