On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Fondation Maison de Salins offers you on Friday 19 September at 6.30 pm a theatrical reading from the Université Populaire de Théâtre de Bruxelles on the theme of cooperatives, created especially for its 140th anniversary and for the International Year of Cooperatives.
Created in 2013, the UPT (Popular Theatre Universities) have brought together hundreds of artists, actors, intellectuals and more than 60,000 spectators. They constitute to this day a network that crosses France and Belgium. They are active notably in Paris, Avignon, Brussels, Vence, Blois, Versailles and in Franche-Comté, where they host various free events aimed at "Making Reason popular", according to the beautiful formula of Diderot. The UPT work to build bridges between citizens, philosophy and theater. They were thus able to raise awareness among the most diverse audiences on themes such as human rights, respect for women’s freedoms, tolerance, alternative pedagogies, democracy, and the relationship between philosophy and politics.

Formerly a vineyard house located in Salins-les-Bains, in the Jura department, the Maison de Salins saw the birth of Crédit Agricole in 1885\. The first agricultural union in the borough of Poligny, which would later become the first local caisse of Crédit Agricole, is located within its walls.
In 2015, Crédit Agricole de Franche-Comté bought the building and two years later donated it to the foundation that bears its name.
The Maison de Salins Foundation is a corporate foundation of general interest, composed of 34 entities of the Crédit Agricole* group whose mission is to promote knowledge related to the history of the cooperative movement, across all sectors of activity.
Preserving the archives: the Maison de Salins Foundation digitizes, studies and operates for scientific and cultural purposes the historical archives of any cooperative company wishing to become a partner in the project. Facilitate a resource centre: the foundation contributes to research on the cooperative movement
