As can be seen from the writings of Tomasi, author of "Il Gattopardo", the garden of the palace was a focal point for the official and private life of the family. The garden was planted with araucarias, pines and oaks planted towards the end of the nineteenth century by the mother of Tomasi himself, a great lover of countryside and gardening. In this magical place for a child, the young Tomasi spent long days among his capricious streets. A fundamental part is the "formal" Garden, the real historical nucleus of the Park. Of rectangular shape enclosed and protected by the overlying Courtyard of palm trees and Garden of remembrance. Inside the Historic Garden there are tree varieties of exceptional beauty arranged in the refined plan design of the garden. All the elements dear to young Tomasi are found there: the niche of the monkey cage, the paths in clay that wind up in a capricious way, the greenhouse, the aviary and the four fountains, even if strongly mutilated sculptural elements that adorned them. The other fountain was in the center of the Yucca garden placed on a terrace of which today only the traces of the reservoir remain; the third with sleeping putto, the one intended for the nursery of eels, in the bamboo grove. The fourth fountain, the largest and most representative, is the round one that constitutes the point of confluence of all the "crossways" of the garden. Today his appearance is substantially different from that described by the Tomasi in Ricordi. Next to the courtyard of the palm trees is the garden formerly belonging to the Mother Church, located at a higher altitude than the first. This area is cultivated with citrus fruits. The garden of the Yuccas is located in the northeast corner of the park, an appendix to the palace in the garden. Nearby you can see the large greenhouse, a building with arches in tuff stone, originally covered with glass where under the floor a vaulted structure allows the air conditioning of the overlying environment. Originally hidden and secluded behind the Palace, today it forms the eastern edge of the large expanse created between the building and the historic garden. The park concludes with a vast area between the formal garden and that of the Yuccas, which today fully falls within the planimetric configuration despite not being known its original connotation.

Means of transport: Regional bus Sais from Palermo with direct access to the city center; Gallo bus, with many daily services, stops at the Gulfa station, 1 km away from the city center. Parking adjacent to the complex Filangeri Cutò, Via Minniti, Via Libertà. The Filangeri complex provides tourist accommodation for guided tours at the Museo del Gattopardo and the Museum of Memory. The city is equipped with accommodations b&b, restaurants, bars etc...
