The auction of Sète is an emblematic place of the city of Sète, it is a market exclusively reserved for professionals, where fishermen sell their freshly caught fish at auctions. The Sète auction is particularly renowned for the quality of its Mediterranean fish and seafood. It is one of the main fishing ports in the area, and every afternoon after returning from fishing, local fishermen bring their catch back to the auction for sale. Buyers, professionals, usually fishmongers and restaurateurs, come together to try to acquire the different lots of fish and seafood at the best price. The fish is exposed, the bottom-up auctions are going fast, with a steady pace.
