Today, Place des Vosges, the apartment occupied by Victor Hugo from 1832 to 1848, then a royal square, traces the whole life of the writer through the three great periods that he himself set out in Acts and Words: before exile, during exile, since exile. Founded by Paul Meurice in 1902, who donated his collections to the City of Paris, the Maison de Victor Hugo has a large collection of drawings, paintings, photographs and sculptures.
